Quick update - I had 10 or so miles scheduled for Saturday, and decided to tag along with Paula to the OKC Roadrunners first training session. They had 6 miles planned, so I ran there to pick up the extra few needed in my workout. Well, I made it there on 7:20s, which is a tad fast. And wouldn't you know it, I decided to "race" the six practice miles. I have this nasty habit of pushing real hard when there are other people around. I started at the planned 8min/mi pace, but ended up dropping it to 6:20 or so for the final 3.
I was supposed to run my 20 on Sunday, but my legs were fried. So, on the treadmill I went this morning and evening.
Lesson learned: If I'm going to make it through my workouts, I need to stay at my own pace and swallow my pride.
