Dreadmill runs

I've been running on the treadmill a lot recently. There are things I like and things I don't. I like that I was able to run 20 miles today w/o going outside in the cold. (10 before work and 10 afterwards) If I could take my dog with me, I would.

Quick update - I had 10 or so miles scheduled for Saturday, and decided to tag along with Paula to the OKC Roadrunners first training session. They had 6 miles planned, so I ran there to pick up the extra few needed in my workout. Well, I made it there on 7:20s, which is a tad fast. And wouldn't you know it, I decided to "race" the six practice miles. I have this nasty habit of pushing real hard when there are other people around. I started at the planned 8min/mi pace, but ended up dropping it to 6:20 or so for the final 3.

I was supposed to run my 20 on Sunday, but my legs were fried. So, on the treadmill I went this morning and evening.

Lesson learned: If I'm going to make it through my workouts, I need to stay at my own pace and swallow my pride.

Swallowing pride and running at a work-out pace is hard - but think about the pace you'll be running after swimming and biking and that might help. You are always welcome to hang-out with the turtle in the back, if you choose.
